Custom development

Develop a fabric that is yours, not a catalogue number

Send the performance target and the product it goes into. We propose substrate, weave and coating route, build the sample on production equipment and hand over a specification you can tender against.
Process

Five stages from brief to shipment

Typical timeline is 10-15 days for sampling and 25-35 days for bulk, depending on coating route and finishing.
01

Specification review

We agree construction, weight, width, colour, finish and test standard in writing before any yarn is booked.
02

Substrate and lab dip

Greige selection, weave trial and lab dip submitted for approval against your standard.
03

Sample development

Coating and lamination trials on production equipment, with performance testing on each trial.
04

Bulk production

Inline inspection, weight and width checks, shade continuity and AQL final inspection.
05

Documentation

Test reports, packing list, certificate of origin and shipping documents issued with the goods.
Capability

What we can control in house

Weaving, coating, lamination and finishing sit on the same site, so a change in one stage does not mean a new supplier and a new lead time.
Weaving
Water-jet and rapier looms, 150-200 cm reed width
Coating
Knife-over-roll and knife-over-air, PU / PVC / PA
Lamination
Hot-melt and flame lamination, 2L and 3L
Finishing
DWR, calendering, heat setting, IRR treatment
